Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

What is the recommended level to participate?

Although our guides will advise you with any technical questions to help you ride the different trails at your best, but the ability to handle your mountain bike is necessary to participate in this tour. It is also helpful to have done some training prior to participation as you will have to cycle for several consecutive days. It would be a pity to have to give up at any stage of this magnificent tour!

Which particular mountain bike type do you suggest?
If the MTB is a front or fullsuspended bike, it makes no difference. You should choose the type you feel most comfortable on. The most important thing is that before you begin a stage of the tour, the bike is in perfect riding condition and has been checked for safety and performance by a specialized bike mechanic.

What if it rains?
Our guides will make the final decision in compromising weather conditions whether the ride can continue full stage, part stage or otherwise. In case of a full or partial cancellation of one or more of the riding stages, taxi and/or car transfer(s) will be arranged and fully reimbursed by Holimites.

What specific clothing and gear do you recommend?

Please be advised that the use of a certified helmet is mandatory for participation in this bike tour. The helmet must be worn and fastened throughout the entire tour and throughout all of the riding stages without exception. If this rule is not followed, our guides will not be able to allow your participation in the remainder of the tour and you will be asked to leave the group. We ensure the safety of all of our guests to the greatest po-
tential possible, and therefore, will not be flexible with this stipulation. Please make sure to bring a light hydration pack with a few layers of clothing including a lightly insulated jacket, rain gear and gloves. Keep in mind that the weather in the mountains can change quickly and vary in degrees. A beautiful, sunny morning can turn wet and cold by afternoon; so be prepared for everything. This is the reason why we suggest packing some warmer and comfortable clothing as well which can be left in your bag that we that we will transfer for you from hut to hut. Note: In some huts, bags are transported via a cableway and thus there are some weight restrictions. If this case pertains to your group, your guide will give clear instructions on acceptable baggage

weight which depends on the number of participants in your group.
